In Indonesia's rapidly advancing digital era, cybercrime is becoming an increasingly urgent issue. Cybercrime involves using digital networks as a medium for criminal activities, often conducted via internet-connected devices. With the rise in digitalization, cyber threats have surged significantly. The Indonesian National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN) recorded 403 million cyber-attack anomalies in 2023 alone, highlighting the country's low cybersecurity resilience.

Teenagers represent one of the largest internet user demographics in Indonesia, making them highly vulnerable to cyber threats. According to recent data, over 30 million Indonesian children and teens are active internet users, with 94.16% of youths aged 16-30 having accessed the internet in the past three months, primarily for social media, news, and entertainment. However, this heavy usage increases their exposure to cybercrimes like phishing, a common form of online fraud designed to steal personal information, which can lead to identity theft and emotional distress.

Given the low digital literacy rates in Indonesia, as evidenced by the country's low rank in the OECD’s PISA literacy survey, there's an urgent need for educational approaches that require minimal text while effectively teaching cybersecurity awareness. Click & Shield was developed as an engaging learning platform to address this gap. Through its gameplay, it aims to educate young people about digital safety, fostering greater awareness of the dangers of cybercrime in a fun and interactive way.
